Ireland Travel Guide
I know I am so behind on posting the rest of my pictures from this trip, but I’ve been so busy with school (and taking a quick trip back to France) that it’s taken me forever to finish editing the photos. Today’s post is literally a giant compilation of photos from Ireland that include a Game of Thrones tour up to Belfast and shots from Dublin and Cork. I’ll be doing separate posts on Ashford Castle and the Cliffs of Moher in the days to come, so stay tuned!
Being the geeks that we are, Jordan and I decided to go on a Game of Thrones tour that left from Dublin and drove to Belfast to tour sights and locations where the show is filmed. The highlight of the tour was getting to meet two of the pups who play the Stark’s direwolves. Honestly, I could have just played with them all day. They were so, so, soooo sweet! Part of the tour includes getting to see props from the show. They also provide cloaks, should you want to wear them, when you’re out roaming the woods…so literally picture like 50 nerds in fur-trimmed cloaks roaming the forest in Belfast…
We only spent one day really in Dublin, so it was jammed packed and I didn’t take too many photos. Our first stop was to the oldest pub in Ireland for a spot of lunch before touring around the city for the rest of the day.
After our brief trip to Dublin, we started working our way to Ashford Castle with a stop in Cork and a bunch of neighboring towns. Our driver insisted that we take a tour of the Jameson Whisky Factory, which was kind of funny if you know my family.
The one thing that I really wanted to see in Ireland was the Cliffs of Moher…so I begged and begged to go on our drive to the castle. And I still can’t get over how beautiful they were…You can really tell through all of that fog…..It was such a bust and so disappointing (also hilarious at the same time). Luckily, I have such a sweet mom who would hire a driver to take us back the next day when the sun was out so I could see them, and boy what a difference a day makes, but you’ll have to wait for the next post!
