This past weekend, I flew out west for a mini vacay and to celebrate my best friend's wedding. I spent a few days in Newport before heading north up the coast to Santa Barbara for the wedding. I hadn't been to Santa Barbara since I was a baby, so it was like visiting for the first time. We stayed at The Biltmore Four Seasons Resort and it was one of the most unique hotels I've ever stayed in. The decor was vibrant and bold and the gardens were full of so much greenery and colorful blooms. It was like a little oasis right next to the beach. It doesn't get much better than that!
The wedding was on Saturday and besides my own wedding day, it was one of my favorite days. I was such a crying, happy mess seeing my best friend of 24 years marry the only man worthy of being her husband! She was such a stunning bride and the day was literally perfect. The only thing missing was my cute husband as my date!
We spent Sunday exploring Santa Barbara wandering along the coast, walking on the beach and pier, shopping on the main street, and (of course) taste testing ice cream. I'm a huge Blue Belle fan, but I have to confess: McConnell's Ice Cream is the best ice cream I've ever tasted. There. I said it. After testing every flavor on their menu, I settled for Salted Caramel Chip and finished my cup in less than 2 minutes. My mouth is watering thinking about it. If you ever get a chance to grab a scoop or two there, do it.
It was a super short trip, but still super fun. I was so happy I was able to spend a little time with my parents, my second family, and some of my closest friends. I definitely want to take a trip back to Santa Barbara and bring my frenchie! What should we do on our next trip out there?
My beautiful best friend, Lauren!
Lauren, I'm seriously so happy for you and Peter. You make an amazing team. Watching you marry the love of your life was by far one of the happiest and best moments of my life. I love seeing the happiness and love between you two, it's so obvious that you were meant for each other! I can't wait to see what the future has in store for both of you, I just know it's going to be great. Love you more than you know! #madlaur
