Road Trip to Normandy

It's almost Thanksgiving and I'm finally sharing photos from our trip to France in August...what's wrong with me?! We went to France for two weeks in August to visit Jérémie's friends and family and had the best time. We spent most of our time in Reims, but took a mini road trip to the coast to explore by the sea. We started our trip by picking up Georgiana from the airport (Ann arrived the night before). I serious love these two of my best friends of mine. They flew ALL the way from Vancouver and Miami to celebrate our french wedding party (more on that in my Reims post!). They are the only two people who I can call up and say "hey, come to France with me!" and then they literally book their tickets in a day. I love having such adventurous friends who I can travel the world with! It makes life so fun.

After our airport pitstop, we made our way to Le Havre for a day soaking in the sunshine by the sea. The beaches were lined with these cute colorful beach cabanas. I definitely would have had a pink one if I lived there. Being from California, it always surprises me that most of the beaches in France are rocky shorelines instead of sand. After the beach, we ate our way through the town, starting with charcuterie. If there is one thing I love, its eating charcuterie by the sea (or just eating charcuterie in general.) We spent the night in Le Havre and in the morning we made our way to Étretat.

It was windy, cold, and rainy when we arrived in Étretat. We were going to just turn around and head to Paris, but decided to wait it out over hot chocolate and breakfast instead. And right when we finished eating, the clouds broke up and the rain stopped so we made our way to the beach and the cliffside. Fighting against the wind, we made our way to the top of the cliffs. It was seriously so beautiful and the girls and I might have been tempted to swim the channel back to London...but we were heading to Paris in the afternoon, we decided it was worth it not to go for a swim. And with that, we hopped in our car and headed to the city that has my heart...
