Dior: From Paris To The World

A few weeks ago, I treated myself to an afternoon of art, culture, and fashion at the Dallas Museum of Art and went to the Dior Exhibit. Guys. It was AMAZING. I seriously felt so inspired and had chills the entire time I was in the exhibit. Several times I caught myself crying. It was breathtaking, every piece was inspired and uniquely beautiful. I loved immersing myself in the process and see how each artistic director conceptualized and brought to life each work of wearable art.

Since his debut collection, art gallerist turned legendary couturier Christian Dior has generated an epic movement in fashion history. With lavish embroidery, luxurious fabrics, and elegant silhouettes, his designs were a revolutionary celebration of modern femininity when they emerged in Paris after World War II. Today, Dior’s global influence is as enduring and iconic as ever. Dior: From Paris to the World surveys more than 70 years of the House of Dior’s legacy, featuring a dynamic selection of almost 200 haute couture dresses, as well as accessories, photographs, original sketches, runway videos, and other archival material.

Dior: From Paris to the World profiles both Dior himself and subsequent artistic directors, including Yves Saint Laurent (1958–1960), Marc Bohan (1961–1989), Gianfranco Ferré (1989–1996), John Galliano (1997–2011), Raf Simons (2012–2015), and Maria Grazia Chiuri (2016–present), all of whom have carried Dior’s vision into the 21st century.

The Eiffel Tower coat needs to make its way into my closet…And I desperately need several of the red ball gowns to wear on the reg. Originally, the exhibit was set to end on September 1st, but they extended to October 27th. Be sure to get your tickets. I promise you will not be disappointed. I’m definitely going again!
