Meet Poppy Jane

Our sweet girl made her grand debut on July 12, 2023. On July 12th, I woke up at around 1 AM to my contractions starting. I was so excited and the contractions were so strong that I couldn’t sleep. The only thing that helped was taking a super hot shower, so I stayed in the shower for about 3 hours to get some form of relief. We waited until around 8 AM and for my contractions to be 3-5 minutes apart before we made our way to the hospital.

I was admitted immediately and waited out the contractions as much as possible before I got my epidural. Unfortunately the epidural only worked for a little and eventually wore off so I felt everything...which was a lot, but worth it. At 4:42 PM, she arrived! Our perfect girl. I felt so much relief that she was here. She weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20.5 inches long. She had a ton of dark, brown hair and the most perfect round head with the biggest blue eyes and longest lashes. Her fingers and toes were all so long. We were so in love. The moment they put her on my chest, my heart forever started living outside of my chest. We stayed in the hospital until Friday afternoon and then finally went home to meet our Indy. He was so happy to meet her and fell in love with her immediately. And just like that, it was the four of us.
